Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg was born on January 3, 2003, in Stockholm Sweden. Svante Thunberg, an actress and Malena Erbenman, an opera singer are her parents. Thunberg was a student at a private institution in Stockholm from 2010 until 2018. The year she graduated, in 2019, Thunberg finished her 9th grade and received high marks. Thunberg's Aspergers disorder, which is obsessive-compulsive and selectively mute was identified. The people diagnosed with the disorder focus on a single ideology or topic and Thunbergs interest was in climate change. Thunberg first became aware of this issue in 2011 when she was just eight years old and could not understand why it wasnt taken more seriously. Then she changed her lifestyle within a couple of years of becoming vegan, and avoiding travel on airplanes. Her parents were convinced to adopt the same lifestyle and reduce their own carbon footprint. Thunberg believes that humanity is facing an existential crisis because of global warming. She uses graphic analogies to emphasize her concerns and often speaks bluntly to the political and business elites about the inability of them to collectively take actions. In August of 2018, Thunberg took decisive action. She walked out of school, and put up a sign that read 'School Strike For Climate and calmly was seated outside of the Swedish Parliament. It was important to her to draw the attention of politicians and get them to take steps to curb the effects of global warming. Swedish media coverage of Thunbergs actions and the news became widely known. Afterward, thousands of other students joined the #FridaysforFuture movement. Students walked out of school on every Friday to demonstrate against the effects of climate change. The climate activists around the world joined together to coordinate the initial Global Strike for Climate. It was an enormous success. Over 1.6 million people from 125 nations took part.
