April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, started taking guitar and piano lessons from age seven. Her interest in making music was ignited. At the age of 12 April wrote her first song Different. As a teenager, April committed a large amount of her time writing music ideas and practicing music. In the following months, she started taking notes together with her dad on trips to LA as well as NY. April was able to add various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure impairments and even suicide among teenagers. Lockhart has a partnership with famous clean beauty brand Ilia and is also an influencer in the lifestyle industry with her own growing fan base. Disability is an aspect of her personality, but it's not the entire image. Lockhart isn't shy about mentioning her disability through her Instagram page, but she doesn't put it at the center of the account. The message is? The message? That we have many different aspects, that our bodies and identities may not be as they appear. Lockhart, via a video message from Nashville's home affirms that I don't want this to determine me. I'm much far more than just my physical body. My daily routine isn't directly affected by disability. I just live my normal routine and have the solutions I have for my problems. However, it's a component of me which is why I think it's important to talk about. Self-acceptance runs for life however Lockhart truly inspires me in this regard. She still admits to going through a series of phases with regards to her body. She felt uncertain about clothing choices which showed her arms. Today, she wears anything she's interested in. Also, she uploads her photos on social media. Self-love she said can be described as a trip. "I do not think that you'll be there," she said. This applies to everyone, no matter what their level of insecurity. It's my opinion that having those close to you who truly are aware of you and know your heart is really important as they'll be the ones who will remind you what you worried about?
